The company

SOIC Ship Management owns Götheborg of Sweden. The mission of SOIC Ship Management AB is to ensure that the ship is kept in excellent condition and will continue to sail the oceans of the world. This will be fulfilled through our future expeditions.

Götheborg of Sweden is the world's largest, ocean-going, wooden sailing ship. After six years at her home quay, extensive maintenance work, including two shipyard visits, as well as lifting and inspecting the mainmast, the ship will sail to Stockholm in August 2021 and to Asia in 2022.

Our owners

SOIC Ship Management AB is a fully owned subsidiary of Greencarrier AB, one of the Nordic countries' largest privately owned logistics companies. The company has branches in 11 countries worldwide and offers global logistics solutions with all modes of transport, focusing on knowledge, innovation and sustainable solutions.

Sustainability workshop with CSR Västsverige

New yards in the making

The exciting task for this week included locating, taking down, debarking and preparing timber that will become six new yards on the ship! Heading out on our big expedition to Asia next year, we need to bring spare yards with us, and this week has been very busy at the sawmill outside of Laholm.
