Welcome to explore the roots of tea and the organic evolution of tea drinking throughout the centuries.
During the tasting, we will sample 12 classic varieties of tea, including white, green, oolong, black, and post-fermented (Pu-erh) teas. We will also learn how to prepare Pu-erh tea cakes using a traditional Chinese tea set with a Gaiwan.

In the 18th century, the Swedish East India Company imported tea from China, including Keemun, Lapsang Souchong, and Pu-erh. These are among the varieties you will have the opportunity to taste during our tea tasting aboard the East Indiaman Götheborg.

This tasting is suitable for anyone curious about Chinese tea history and Chinese teas. No previous knowledge is required.

The perfect late-summer evening for families, friends, and everyone who loves live music in a unique historic setting. Join us on a guided tour from the city centre to the ship! We begin at Gustav Adolfs Square, where you will hear the story of Gothenburg’s founding. From there, we take a short walk, following the traces of the Swedish East India Company. Why did they travel to China? Who sailed on board, and what happened when the ships returned with their valuable cargoes?
