Sailing legs Asia Expedition

After leaving Gothenburg 8 June 2022, Götheborg is sailing in the Baltic Sea and Northern Europe before heading south towards the Mediterranean, where we are stying during winter 2022/2023. Spring 2023 we are heading onto Asia and stop at a number of ports, such as India, Singapore and Hong Kong, before arriving in Shanghai in September 2023.

The planning and work to confirm and finalise the stopovers and ports that Götheborg will dock at, and the sailing legs in between, is ongoing work. The sailing legs to Asia in 2023 will be announced as soon as possible (the stops on the map are preliminary).

Hear modern tales of sailing an 18th century ship, and about the exciting expedition to Asia. Feel the authentic atmosphere, including the smell of tar, and listen to everything from captivating stories, to the tremendous art of shipbuilding.

Heading out once again! Götheborg of Sweden is heading out on a great voyage, the Asia Expedition 2022/2023. In the same vein as in our history, the ship will also work as a platform for partners to promote Swedish-Asian trade and create new business opportunities.

Götheborg of Sweden is the world’s largest wooden ocean-going sailing ship, and we look forward to a unique sailing adventure. 

 

Latest news

Götheborg will change its route to deliver an elephant to the Prince of Monaco

30 September 2022

Instead of heading straight from Nice to Valletta as planned, the route has been changed and the ship is now also making a short stopover in Monaco. However, it is not just a regular stopover: It will include the spectacular delivery of a 2.4-meter-high elephant sculpture to H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco.

A short visit to Monaco

We have some great news! We will make a short, but sweet visit to Monaco. This means that we will leave Nice on 4 October instead of 6 October. We will be in Monaco 4–6 October and will be open to visitors 5–6 October. Welcome on board!

Adiós Málaga!

20 September 2022

Tuesday 20 September we sailed out of Málaga, after almost a full week in the harbor in the city center. The days here has been amazing with lots of interested journalists and visitors on board. Next stop is Nice, France!
