The ship Götheborg is a unique replica of an 18^th century trade ship with the same name. To work and sail on the ship is a once in a lifetime opportunity to be part of an exciting project and adventure, in an environment full of passion, creativity and drive. 

During 2022 and 2023 Götheborg is embarking on a great expedition to Europe and Asia – a truly unique expedition. The ship left Gothenburg in the beginning of June 2022 and will sail in Europe during the summer and autumn 2022. She will stay in the Mediterranean during the winter and continue her voyage and arrive in Asia in 2023.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for experienced navigation officers, initially to fill in gaps in the sailing schedule. But with proven ability there might be options for a long-term employment.

We have some smaller gaps already in July (the first period we are looking for an officer is 21^st – 29^th of July), so do not hesitate to get in touch if you are interested.

We would like you to have relevant sailing experience and of course, we need you to have a certificate of competence adequate for vessels above 500 GT. If you are living outside Sweden, you also need a Swedish endorsement (or willing to apply for one). Furthermore, your certificates of proficiency as well as health certificate must be up to date.

We are looking for passionate and positive minded officers with a flexible personality and good communication skills. You must be able to communicate in English. Additional language knowledge is of advantage!

What do we offer?

As it is a very special project, the expedition to Asia will attract a lot of interest and you will sail to beautiful places and meet people with different backgrounds.

Salary will be paid monthly, and sailing will be in a 1:1 rotational schedule of up to 8 weeks on and off.
