Götheborg of Sweden is the world's largest ocean-going wooden sailing ship, an 18th century replica of the original Götheborg that sank outside of Gothenburg in 1745, and will create great attention wherever she goes. Imagine losing your rudder out at sea and sending out a distress call. And then the largest ocean-going wooden sailing ship in the world comes to your rescue. Or in the words of the sailors on the sailing boat: "This moment was very strange, and we wondered if we were dreaming. Where were we? What time period was it?"
The Götheborg has now arrived in Gibraltar. Due to high winds the arrival was delayed by about an hour, but the ship is now moored in Mid Harbour Marina. We're here over Easter Weekend, 6–10 April, and will be open to visitors all days.
Thank you, Sète! Our first stopover after leaving Barcelona and the winter period behind was the beautiful town of Sète. We couldn't have asked for a better start to our European Tour 2023. Escale à Sète invited the Götheborg to be the centerpiece of their biennial event celebrating maritime traditions in the Mediterranean. Fortunately, we also arrived just in time for the annual sea urchin festival.

This weekend (18–19 March) will be our last in Barcelona. Monday 20 March at 10:00 we head out after nearly five months in this beautiful city. As this is the last chance to visit the ship in Barcelona, don't miss out! We're open Saturday and Sunday, and the ship will have full crew and of course look her best.
Are you 18–25 and want to sail with us? This is a great opportunity to get part of the payment payed by a grant! STAS (Sail Training Association of Sweden) has decided to give a grant of 2500 SEK each to four people 18–25 years of age. With only four grants to hand out, don't hesitate to apply!
Today tickets are released for our final weekend in Barcelona (18–19 March) and first stopover Sète (23–27 March). We will have open ship with station guiding on board. Come and visit the ship, meet the crew, learn about the history and craftmanship, and hear about life on board an 18th century ship.
At arrival in Gothenburg, Götheborg of Sweden will officially open the city of Gothenburg’s great 400-year jubilee on the 2nd of June 2023 with a gun salute. The ship will also join Gothenburg’s Anniversary Festival in Frihamnen in Gothenburg, 2–5 June.

Today it was announced that the second stopover on the European Tour 2023 will be Gibraltar. Between 6–10 April the ship will be moored at Mid Harbour Marina. It's the first time that Götheborg visits Gibraltar, and the ship will of course be open to visitors during the stopover.
