Asia Expedition 2022/2023

Thank you Helsingborg!

Today, at 4pm, we left the beautiful city of Helsingborg after three wonderful and sunny days in port. We've had thousands of visitors, a great arrival ceremony, and business dinners and lunches on board during our stay. We have also greeted three watches of new deckhands on board, who will sail with us to Helsinki.

Thank you Helsingborg!

At arrival in Helsingborg, crowds on the quaysides greeted the ship, and an official ceremony was held, exchanging plaques, as the visit by Götheborg was the first official visit to Helsingborg. Thank you Port of Helsingborg and City of Helsingborg for inviting us!

In the following three days we greeted visitors on board the ship, and were very happy with the great reception from the people of Helsingborg. We even extended the number of tickets sold, and opened up for ticket sales for one more day than planned to meet the interest.

Yesterday, we changed deckhands on board, and greeted a new group of people who will sail with us on the next sailing legs. During out say, we've had many questions for the possibility to sail along. If you are interested, we still have spaces on the sailing leg from Helsinki end of June, and the sailing leg from Stockholm in mid July. Hope to see you on board!!

From Helsingborg we are now heading to Helsinki, Finland, where we arrive 23 June. The plan is to go via a direct route to Helsinki, past Bornholm, the southern tip of Öland and the coast of Gotland. Although this is the plan, we are dependent on weather and wind, so the route is subject ot change. You can always follow where we are on the map here

The Pioneer Leg/Sailing Leg 1 of the great Asia Expedition 2022/2023 went from Gothenburg to Helsingborg in southern Sweden. We left Gothenburg 8 June 2022, and after six days of sailing we arrived in Helsingborg 14 June 2022.

The visit in beautiful Helsingborg was four days of sunny weather. Thousands of visitors came on board to visit the ship, a welcome ceremony was held with the Port of Helsingborg and City of Helsingborg, and we hosted both business dinners and lunches on board. We also welcomed the group of new deckhands who signed on to sail with us to Helsinki.

Follow the sailing leg from start to finish in this video. Thank you Helsingborg for a fantastic four days!

Just a note: Our cannons may be replicas of the original cannons, but they are just for show and only shoot flour and pieces of newspaper. No persons, animals or ships were hurt in the making of this video. ;)
