Tar weekend coming up!
Summer is over and the maintenance of our beloved ship is in need of some extra pair of hands! If you have time to spend, and love the dark and musky fragrance of tar?
The 2nd of June we returned to our home port of Gothenburg to officially open the city of Gothenburg's 400-year jubilee with a gun salute. We also participated in the Jubilee Festival in Frihamnen 2–5 June, our last official stopover on the European Tour 2023. During our days in Frihamnen, we had over 7,000 people visiting us on board. Thank you for amazing days!

The Jubilee Festival was the start of the city of Gothenburg's 400-year jubilee, and what an amazing four days we had!! Sunshine, music, performances, circus, activities and thousands of people.
The ship Götheborg was visible already from the other side of the bridge, Hisingsbron, and everyone who arrived to the festival on the water came really close up, as the ferries stopped just behind the ship.
On the quayside next to the ship, Tordenskiöldarna had built an 18th century village with lots of activities, and Repslagarmuseet were on site to show the art of rope making. Altogether this made for a great atmosphere with games, music and fun.
During our days in Frihamnen we had several events on board, and the ship was also open to visitors, who could walk around and have a look at the ship. In total we welcomed 7,000 visitors on board in just those few short days. Thank you to everyone who came on board!
We are now moored in Eriksberg in Gothenburg and we're open all through summer as part of the 400-year jubilee. Welcome on board on a guided tour!

Good news! We will extend the period that we are open to visitors in Eriksberg, Gothenburg. All through September 2023, we will stay open for guided tours on weekends. Opening hours will be 11:00–16:00 and tours will leave once an hour. Welcome on board the world's largest ocean-going wooden sailing ship!
At the end of August, Götheborg of Sweden will attend Sweden’s largest shipping event, Donsö Shipping Meet (DSM). It’s the first time that the ship will attend the event, and it is also the first time that Götheborg will moor at Donsö in the southern archipelago outside of Gothenburg.
