Maintenance volunteers
Are you interested in volunteering at Götheborg during our maintenance period? We are now looking for a few volunteers who have sailed with us recently and are willing to stay with us for 6-8 weeks.
The tar weekends are now full and the application is closed.
Summer is over and the maintenance of our beloved ship is in need of some extra pair of hands! If you have time to spend, and love the dark and musky fragrance of tar? Do not hesitate to apply for one or two weekends where we will get together and maintain the rig before winter arrives.
We are looking for people who have sailed on Götheborg before; you must be able to go aloft in the rig. You’ll get a refresher on rig training. The weekends are short so we can’t teach people from scratch unfortunately.
Be aware that we run the tar weekend together, so we still need people in supporting roles as backis and tar runner.

Good news! We will extend the period that we are open to visitors in Eriksberg, Gothenburg. All through September 2023, we will stay open for guided tours on weekends. Opening hours will be 11:00–16:00 and tours will leave once an hour. Welcome on board the world's largest ocean-going wooden sailing ship!
At the end of August, Götheborg of Sweden will attend Sweden’s largest shipping event, Donsö Shipping Meet (DSM). It’s the first time that the ship will attend the event, and it is also the first time that Götheborg will moor at Donsö in the southern archipelago outside of Gothenburg.
