Götheborg of Sweden will open the city of Gothenburg’s 400-year jubilee with gun salute

Götheborg of Sweden will officially open the city of Gothenburg’s great 400-year jubilee on the 2nd of June 2023 by greeting the city with a gun salute. As previously announced, the ship will sail to Gothenburg for the jubilee. Today it was announced that the ship will open the festivities with gun salute and join Gothenburg’s Anniversary Festival in Frihamnen in Gothenburg.

All six sailing legs and port stops of the European Tour 2023 are now released

Götheborg of Sweden today released the two final port stops of the European Tour 2023; Rotterdam and Hamburg. This means that all six sailing legs and port stops for 2023 are now announced. The ship, currently moored in Barcelona, will sail to Sète, Gibraltar, Jersey, Rotterdam and Hamburg before arriving at its home port Gothenburg, Sweden. In Gothenburg, the ship will take part in the city of Gothenburg’s 400-year jubilee.

Götheborg of Sweden is coming to Barcelona

On Thursday 27 October 2022 at 10:00 am, the world’s largest ocean-going wooden sailing ship, and a replica of an 18th century Swedish East India Company ship, Götheborg of Sweden, is arriving to Barcelona. Before mooring, at 09:00 am, the ship will fire a gun salute.

The ship Götheborg has arrived in Valletta, Malta

Today, Friday 14 October 2022 at 12:00 am, the world’s largest ocean-going wooden sailing ship, and a replica of an 18th century Swedish East India Company ship, Götheborg of Sweden, arrived to Valletta. Before mooring, the ship saluted the city with a gun salute which was answered from the city.

Elephant delivered to the Prince of Monaco on board the world’s largest ocean-going wooden sailing ship

On Tuesday 4 October 2022, a 2.4-meter-high elephant sculpture will be delivered to Monaco on board the Götheborg of Sweden. The elephant sculpture is a gift from the Swedish animal and nature organisation The Perfect World Foundation to H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco. The sculpture will be greeted with a gun salute from the Palace of Monaco before being presented to H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco.

World’s largest ocean-going wooden sailing ship is arriving to Nice

Thursday 29 September 2022 at 11:00 am, the world’s largest ocean-going wooden sailing ship, and a replica of an 18th century Swedish merchant ship, Götheborg of Sweden, is arriving to Nice. Before mooring, the ship will salute the city of Nice with a gun salute at 10:20 am outside the city.

On Thursday 15 September 2022 at 11:00 am, the world’s largest ocean-going wooden sailing ship, and a replica of an 18th century Swedish East India Company ship, Götheborg of Sweden, is arriving to Málaga. Before mooring, the ship will shoot gun salute at 9:30 am outside the city.

Götheborg is arriving to Lisbon, Portugal

Today, Monday 5 September 2022 at 11:00 am, the world’s largest ocean-going wooden sailing ship, and a replica of an 18th century Swedish merchant ship, Götheborg of Sweden, is arriving to Lisbon. Before mooring, the ship will shoot gun salute outside Belém Tower at 10:30 am and pass the 25 de Abril Bridge.

World’s largest ocean-going wooden sailing ship is arriving to London

Monday, 8 August 2022 at 10:00 am, the world’s largest ocean-going wooden sailing ship, Götheborg of Sweden, is arriving to London. The ship is on its way to Asia and London is the 6th stopover on the Asia Expedition 2022/2023. The Götheborg will be in London 8–12 August and will be moored at South Dock Quay in Canary Wharf. The ship will be open to the public 8-11 August. Before mooring on the 8th, the ship will pass Tower Bridge at 08:30 am and 09:00 am.

World’s largest ocean-going wooden sailing ship is coming to Oslo

27 July 2022

Tomorrow, 27 July 2022 at 13:00, the world’s largest ocean-going sailing ship, Götheborg of Sweden, is arriving to Oslo. It is the last stopover in the Nordic Countries on the Asia Expedition 2022/2023 before the ship heads south. The Götheborg will be in Oslo 28–31 July and will be moored at the central location of Vippetangen, near Akershus Fortress.
