Götheborg of Sweden is the world's largest ocean-going wooden sailing ship, an 18th century replica of the original Götheborg that sank outside of Gothenburg in 1745, and will create great attention wherever she goes. 5,000 SEK sailing grant for Sweden based 18–25 year olds

Are you based in Sweden, 18-25 years old, and interested in sailing with us in the Mediterranean? If so, there is a possibility to get a grant for 30–40 % of the sailing cost. Four lucky people can get a grant of 5,000 SEK each to sail with us. Apply now, spaces are filling up!

From 17-21 August, we visited Bremerhaven Maritime Days. Together with more than 80 other ships and more than 350,000 visitors we had fabulous days in Germany and wish to thank the Maritime Tage Bremerhaven 2022 organisation for inviting us! 

The Swedish Export Credit Agency hosted event in London

In June, The Swedish Export Credit Agency (EKN) joined the Götheborg as a partner to showcase Swedish exports from Europe to Asia. In London, they hosted a well attended seminar for international banks on board the Götheborg in Canary Wharf.

Thank you London for an amazing week in Canary Wharf, and thank you to the crowds who greeted us at Tower Bridge as we arrived! The interest shown in the ship, the many questions and big smiles from all visitors who came on board really made our week!

We have arrived in London, and we were greeted with style by the Londoners! Passing Tower Bridge at 08:30 in the morning, thousands of onlookers were lining the quaysides to see the ship. We are now moored at Thames Quay in the South Dock in Canary Wharf, and will be open to visitors during the stopover.

Thank you Oslo

We are now headed for London, after four sunny and warm days in the Norwegian capital Oslo. Thank you Oslo for hosting us for a few days, and thank you to everyone who came and visited us. Oslo is the last stop in the Nordic countries before we head south on our great Asia Expedition 2022/2023. 

Grant from STAS for people 18–25 years old on the Bremerhaven to Lisbon leg

STAS (Sail Training Association of Sweden) has decided to give a grant to five people 18–25 years of age applying to Leg 8: The Biscayan Adventure – Bremerhaven to Lisbon!

Thank you for these days Copenhagen! It has been a lovely few days. Moored at the quay by the Nordre Toldbod area and close to many of the landmarks (the little mermaid), kastellet and all the beautiful statues was an honour. Now we are heading to Oslo! 

Ticket sales open for London

It is fifteen years since the ship last visited London, in May 2007 on the way home from the first Asia expedition. Now it's time again for the ship to sail up the River Thames and greet the Londoners. We will be docked at South Dock Quay in Canary Wharf. Come and see the majestic arrival, with both shanties and ceremonial flags. Ticket sales are now open for 9-11 August.

We are now moored at the quay by Nedre Tolbold, in Copenhagen! We are here until Sunday 24 July, and are open to visitors Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Hope to see you!

Thank you, and farewell Stockholm

As we set sail from Stockholm, the long rivalry between the second city Göteborg and the capital lays buried, as the Ship Götheborg was given pride of place at Skeppsbrokajen 105 by Gamla Stan, Stockholm’s Old Town.

We have arrived in lovely Stockholm! We are moored at Skeppsbrokajen 105, in the west side of the Old Town in central Stockholm. We are here until the Thursday 14 July, and open to visitors Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Hope to see you!
