On Wednesday, 8 June 2022, the great Asia Expedition 2022/2023 begins! A two year adventure, visiting three continents, awaits us! At 15:30 in the afternoon we loosen the moorings, at 16:00 we will shoot gun salute just outside Eriksberg. Come and wave us off and if you have a boat, join us as we head out of the harbour!

Last time Götheborg sailed to Asia was seventeen years ago, in October 2005. Thousand of people watched from shore as she weighed anchor and set sail, and hundreds of boats followed her out of the harbour. A unique experience for everyone following her voyage and the crew on board. Now it's time again! Come and wave to us from the shore. And if you have a boat, follow us out of the harbour!

Mission to create new business opportunities

In the same vein as in our history, the mission is to promote Swedish-Asian trade and create new business opportunities. The ship is the perfect platform for our partners. 

Thousands of visitors

During the expedition, the ship will make stopovers in ports and cities along the route. We will invite thousands of visitors from the public on board to experience an 18th century ship.

Anyone can sail along – the adventure of a lifetime!

Hundreds of people will also sail with us as deckhands, joining different sailing legs. Deckhand are not required to have any sailing experience. They sail for the once in a lifetime experience.

The days before heading out on our great Asia Expedition 2022/2023, the ship will be open to visitors in Gothenburg. This is the last chance to visit her before she heads out, and also to see her at her most beautiful. In preparation for the expedition, extensive work has been done on the ship, and she looks fantastic! Don't miss out on this opportunity!

Welcome to Ostindiefararen’s Megaloppis! Got something at home you no longer need? Or maybe you're on the hunt for a great bargain? Join us for Ostindiefararen’s Megaloppis on August 16 – free entry! We’re hosting a classic flea market on the pier next to Ostindiefararen. Private individuals buy and sell, the ship is open for visitors (free admission!), and our café will be serving coffee, treats, and light lunches. The ship’s gift shop will also be open. 🎟️ Reserve your free ticket right here on the page. Everyone’s welcome! Want to take part as a seller? You can easily book your spot right here. We offer either a table or space to bring your own. Set-up time is between 08:00–10:00. Please check in with staff and show your ticket when you arrive. The market closes at 15:30. Come and be part of the day! Practical info & FAQ 🕙 Opening hours: 10:00–15:30 📍 Address: Pier 4, Eriksberg 🚚 For sellers: Please arrive early for setup. 🧥 Clothing racks: Allowed, but space is limited — we can’t guarantee room beyond your table area. 🔌 Electricity: Unfortunately, no power outlets are available at stalls. 🚗 Parking: No parking on-site. Closest option is at Deckshuset, Östra Eriksbergsgatan 77. Car drop-off on the pier is allowed for unloading. 🍰 Food & drinks: Available at our café. 🐶 Dogs: Allowed on the pier, but not onboard the ship. 🔥 Smoking/open flames: Strictly prohibited in the entire area.

Den 17 juli kör vi Zumba®️ på Ostindiefararen! Vi har alltid dansat på skeppet, men nu är det dags att bjuda in Lena Hellmers Eberhard, som kommer att hålla i en dansklass ombord. Så här säger Lena om eventet: "Zumba®️Fitness är en träningsform vilken kombinerar dans och träning med rytmer, från främst latinamerikansk musik som salsa, merengue, reggaeton och cumbia.  Det är en energifylld träning som är rolig och enkel eftersom den känns mer som en dansfest. Zumba®️ Fitness är utformad för att förbättra kondition, styrka och koordination, samtidigt som det ger glädje.  Zumba®️ Fitness är populärt över hela världen och kan anpassas för olika åldersgrupper och träningsnivåer. Har du inte provat så kom till Ostindiefararen Götheborg på Eriksberg, pir 4 där du även kan känna historiens vingslag. Gothenburg is getting its very own version of Monopoly, and we at the Ostindiefararen Götheborg are honored to host the release party for the game! 🎉 27th of June 11:00-16:00 Come meet Mr. Monopoly, get the game before anyone else, and enjoy a fun-filled day on the pier. Several other businesses featured in the game will also be there, offering great deals, fun activities for the kids, and entertainment for the whole family.
