Last four 2022 Mediterranean stopovers and winter stop are announced

The last four stopovers on the 2022 part of the Asia Expedition 2022/2023 are now finalised. They are Malaga, Nice, Valetta and Barcelona. The winter stopover will be Barcelona. The ship will arrive in Barcelona 27 October and stay until March 2023.

Stopover ports and dates for the last four 2022 stops are:

Malaga, Spain: 15–20 September
Nice, France: 29 September–6 October
Valetta, Malta: 14–18 October
Barcelona, Spain, winter stopover: 27 October–March 2023

An alteration to the already announced plan is that the stopover in Lisbon will be extended with one day, from 5–9 September.

Sail with us in the Mediterranean

As the stopovers are announced, applications to sail along as a deckhand on the four sailing legs are also opened up. Anyone interested in sailing along for the adventure and to learn how to sail an 18^th century ship is welcome to apply. No sailing experience is required, but applicants need to be over 18 years old and physically able to climb and work in the rig.

Spring is truly here, and we’ve started getting ready to rig all three topmasts. We’re now looking for help with applying tar to the standing rigging. You’re welcome to join us for anything from a full week to just half a day. Unfortunately, we can’t offer accommodation, but we do provide lunch and have work clothes available. Please bring clothes you don’t mind getting dirty to wear underneath, depending on the weather. If you’re interested, please send an email to volunteer@gotheborg.se

Spring market 2025

We are opening the gates to a 1700s-inspired Spring market on the pier of the East Indiaman! Come and enjoy a coffee on the cozy cannon deck with films rolling, and take the opportunity to check or diverse vendours at our market. We will have activities for both children and adults, both onboard the ship and on the pier. We welcome the whole family to join us onboard the East Indiaman Götheborg! Opening Hours: April 12-13 : 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM Location: Pier 4, Eriksberg, Gothenburg (Nearest bus stop: Sörhallstorget, or Eriksberg ferry stop if taking the ferry.)
