On Wednesday, 8 June 2022, the great Asia Expedition 2022/2023 begins! A two year adventure, visiting three continents, awaits us! At 15:30 in the afternoon we loosen the moorings, at 16:00 we will shoot gun salute just outside Eriksberg. Come and wave us off and if you have a boat, join us as we head out of the harbour!

Last time Götheborg sailed to Asia was seventeen years ago, in October 2005. Thousand of people watched from shore as she weighed anchor and set sail, and hundreds of boats followed her out of the harbour. A unique experience for everyone following her voyage and the crew on board. Now it's time again! Come and wave to us from the shore. And if you have a boat, follow us out of the harbour!
In the same vein as in our history, the mission is to promote Swedish-Asian trade and create new business opportunities. The ship is the perfect platform for our partners.
During the expedition, the ship will make stopovers in ports and cities along the route. We will invite thousands of visitors from the public on board to experience an 18th century ship.
Hundreds of people will also sail with us as deckhands, joining different sailing legs. Deckhand are not required to have any sailing experience. They sail for the once in a lifetime experience.

This is the last chance to visit her before she heads out, and also to see her at her most beautiful. Join us on a guided tour from the city centre to the ship! We begin at Gustav Adolfs Square, where you will hear the story of Gothenburg’s founding. From there, we take a short walk, following the traces of the Swedish East India Company. Why did they travel to China? Who sailed on board, and what happened when the ships returned with their valuable cargoes?
