In this post you will find all times and locations for our arrival. Read on for more information about the 1st and 2nd of June, and the coming weekend.

Today, Thursday 1st of June

Today, as we are writing this, the ship is coming close to Gothenburg.

Around 10:00–10:30 we will pass Buskärs knöte and come in through the northern fairway to anchor outside of Rivö around lunch time.
(As also noted below, if you're approaching us out on the water, please be observant of what is happening on the ship, and also on other boats around us.)

Friday the 2nd of June

13:55 Gun salute at Nya Älvsborgs Fästning.
14:00 Gun salute at Göthiska Batteriet, Oscar II Fort
15:00 Gun salute to officially open the 400-year jubilee. Location of the gun salute will be just before the Opera House and outside Frihamnen.

Passage under Älvsborgsbron will be shortly after 14:00.
(As usual, we will not have sails up at arrival to port, as this would not be safe.)
You can follow the ship's position here https://www.gotheborg.se/expedition/ship-s-position/

For anyone who wants to follow us into port by boat, we would love the company! Just a note to please pay attention to the ship whenever you are around us. There will be several gun salutes, so please make sure not to be in front of the cannons. As Gothenburg harbour is a busy place, please also be observant to not disturb any other traffic on the water.

Jubilee Festival

2–5 June we will be moored in Frihamnen and participate in the Jubilee Festival.
3–5 June we will be open to visitors. Check our website for opening hours and make sure to come and visit us!

After the Jubilee Festival

The 7th of June, we will move to Eriksberg, where we will stay during the summer. We will be open to visitors 17 June – 20 August (closed Midsummer weekend), as well as 26 August and 2–3 September. Ticket sales for summer will open shortly.

THE FRIENDS OF THE EAST INDIAMAN GÖTHEBORG INVITE YOU TO A WONDERFUL EVENING 19 MARS 18:00

19 March 2026

During the evening we will be joined by Mats Berggren, who during the construction period represented the Swedish Maritime Administration as a determined and persistent inspector, and Marie-Louise Edholm, who took part in building the rigging, has sailed with the ship, and has been responsible for the maintenance of the rig. You will gain insight into traditional craftsmanship, material choices, and the many challenges involved in combining historical authenticity with modern safety and operational requirements. If you were involved during this period, perhaps you have a story of your own to share. We would love to hear it! About halfway through the lecture, coffee and pastries will be available for purchase. All proceeds will go directly toward the re-rigging of the ship. Registration is free of charge. Please register by emailing: vanner@gotheborg.se A warm welcome! The Friends of East Indiaman Götheborg Association
