Götheborg has arrived in Stockholm
Yesterday afternoon the ship Götheborg made an impressive entrance to Stockholm. Despite cold and rainy weather, she received a very warm welcome from the people gathered at Skeppsbrokajen. The ship will stay in Stockholm until 4 September.
With the full crew up on deck and up in the rigging, the ship greeted Stockholm with a gun salute, which was answered from shore. After the greeting of the captain and shanti songs from the crew, guests were invited on board. Thank you Stockholm for the very warm welcome!
The ship will be in Stockholm until 4 September. Come and see her at Skeppsbrokajen 105.
The ship is open to visitors Friday to Sunday, 27-29 August. All three days are however already fully booked.
We would love for more people to be able to come on board and experience the ship. However, due to Covid we cannot take on board more people on the days that we are open, and during the other days the ship is booked for a number of other events. If we manage to open up for more visitors during the week, it will be communicated on the website.
The East Indiaman will become part of a public experience center at Masthuggskajen.
Greencarrier and the City of Gothenburg have agreed on their ambition to create a long-term home for the East Indiaman at Masthuggskajen. The goal is for the ship to play a central role in a new historical experience center, planned for completion in 2031, and to help create a more vibrant waterfront promenade near Järntorget.
