Sustainability and the role of businesses in western Sweden – Discussion on board Götheborg
Today, at a seminar hosted by 2050 Consulting and CSR Västsverige, politicians, decision makers and business leaders met on board Götheborg of Sweden to discuss the role of West Sweden businesses in driving regional and international sustainability efforts to meet climate change.
The well attended seminar included several interesting panel discussions with members from both the private and public sector.
During the seminar, a new report on West Sweden businesses’ view on sustainability and climate, was also released and presented by 2050 Consulting. It showed that businesses from West Sweden can and want to play an important part in driving climate action, but that more efforts are needed to accelerate change.
The study shows that nearly all of the more than a hundred surveyed companies work actively with sustainability issues. Three out of four companies have set climate goals. However, only half of the surveyed businesses follow up and review their climate emissions.
Based on the study, the report lists eight recommendations and measures that are central to enable sustainable change in businesses and public organisations in western Sweden.
