The ship Götheborg of Sweden is coming to Finland and Helsinki in June

The ship Götheborg of Sweden today announced the second port stop of its two-year long Asia Expedition 2022/2023. In June, right in time for Midsummer, the ship is coming to Finland and Helsinki. The ship will be in Helsinki 23–27 June 2022, and will be moored at Makasiini Quay, right at the heart of the city.

The ship Götheborg of Sweden today announced the first port stop of its two-year long Asia Expedition. First out is the city of Helsingborg, in the south of Sweden. It is the first time that the ship visits Helsingborg, and the stopover will be part of the large city event and innovation show, H22 City Expo, which takes place in Helsingborg throughout June 2022.

The ship Götheborg of Sweden today released two of the ports that the ship will visit on the European part of its two-year long Asia Expedition. First out are London and Bremerhaven. In the UK there is a strong historical connection and great interest in the ship as a replica of an east Indiaman. In Bremerhaven, the ship will be the center of attention at a large maritime event with over 350,000 visitors and 80 different ships.

The ship Götheborg’s expedition to Asia is extended to 2023

The ship Götheborg of Sweden today announced that the planned expedition to Asia is extended with a year, in response to the great interest in the expedition start-up in 2021. Arrival at the end destination in Asia, Shanghai, will be in September 2023. The route is expanded primarily in Europe, with focus on Northern Europe.

The ship Götheborg uses biofuels to reduce environmental and climate impact

When sailing to Stockholm, and back to Gothenburg, the ship Götheborg uses RME biodiesel instead of marine diesel in two of its four fuel tanks. The initiative is part of a bigger sustainability commitment to minimise the ship’s environmental impact and promote solutions for a more sustainable world.

Thursday, 26 August 2021, the ship Götheborg will arrive in Stockholm harbour. It’s the first time in six years that the ship is sailing, and the starting point for the major journey to Asia that the ship will make next year, in 2022. The mission for the journey is to strengthen Swedish-Asian trade relations, and promote the need for innovative solutions for a more sustainable world.

Greencarrier takes over the ownership of the ship Götheborg of Sweden

Greencarrier ensures that The Swedish Ship Götheborg sails on Greencarrier AB has acquired all shares in Svenska Ostindiska Companiet AB - SOIC AB - from foundation Ostindiefararen Götheborg. Greencarrier AB thereby also takes over the ownership and responsibility for “The Swedish Ship Götheborg”.

For the first time, you are given the opportunity to gain a deeper insight into the maintenance work on land when we open up the Ships Workshop! Also, visit our new pop-up store, explore a historic exhibition in our ships hall and get a guided tour onboard the ship.

Expedition 2020 is temporarily postponed

Due to current circumstances and the uncertainty of the spread of coronavirus, The Board of SOIC Ship Management has decided to postpone this year's Expedition temporarily.
