The very first ever East India man Christmas market!

Christmas Market Premiere on the East Indiaman Götheborg We are opening the gates to a 1700s-inspired Christmas market on the pier of the East Indiaman! Come and enjoy a coffee on the cozy cannon deck with the scent of mulled wine and tar, and take the opportunity to finish your Christmas shopping at our market. We will have activities for both children and adults, both onboard the ship and on the pier. For those of you who wish to be part of the Christmas market or want more information (musicians, exhibitors, artisans, food operators), please send an email to info@gotheborg.se. We welcome the whole family to join us onboard the East Indiaman Götheborg! Book Fair at Svenska Mässan

We will have a booth at the Book fair at Svenska Mässan from Thursday to Sunday this week. On Friday and Saturday, we will have two of our authors with us signing their books. Stop by and say Hi!

Gothenburg rowing

Are you interested in rowing with us in our ship’s boats?  We will participate in the newly established, Göteborgsrodden/Gothenburg rowing, on August 31st during the Göteborg Culture Festival. The initiative comes from the West Coast Wooden Boat Association, and the idéa originally comes from Hasselörodden in Västervik.

Traditional Sailing Ships Meetup in Eriksberg, Gothenburg

The weekend 27th to 29th of June is THE weekend! In the archipelago of Gothenburg, you will be able to see about 30 traditional sailing ships from Sweden, Norway and Denmark sailing together for a meet up in Eriksberg during the afternoon 29th of June.

National day and reopening of the Ships hall and brand-new Café!

On June 6, it's happening! There aren't many places on Hisingen to celebrate the Swedish National Day. This year, we're making a big deal out of it by celebrating National Day with both a salute and a flag ceremony. We're combining this with the inauguration of our newly renovated Ship’s Hall and the brand-new café! Why not enjoy a brewed coffee and an ice cream with us?

Remember the sailboat rescue in April last year?

On the 25th of April, off the coast of France just after 4pm, a distress call was sent by the MRCC regarding a sailing vessel that had lost its rudder and was drifting. Being the closest ship to the sailing boat, Götheborg answered the call.

We are looking for guides

We are looking for guides to work in our team and show the ship to the public. Since our guides need to be able to speak both swwedish and english, the rest of this news will follow in Swedish.
